Blocked Sewer Rathmines
A blocked sewer in Rathmines is cleared with the jetter or the electric eel, and the camera goes down the line on both sides of the clear. You get a fixed figure up front, the footage proves the line is open, and sewage coming up at night is treated as an emergency.

Sewer, or One Slow Fixture?
One gurgling sink points to that fixture's own pipe. When several fixtures play up together, the shared sewer line is the suspect. The signs worth acting on:
- The toilet, shower and laundry tub gurgling or slow to empty together
- Water backing up at the outdoor gully while a load of washing runs
- A sour smell near the gully or the floor waste, worse in the humid lake summers
- The toilet level rising on a flush instead of settling back down
Any two of those together, ring (02) 4093 0558. The blocked drains hub steps through how the clearing gear is matched to each kind of fault.
How We Clear a Sewer
- 01
Ring or send the form
Call (02) 4093 0558 or use the form to explain the fault. We ask enough to bring the right equipment the first time.
- 02
A fixed price first
A plumber inspects the job and names a fixed figure up front. Nothing gets started until you give the go-ahead.
- 03
The eel or the jetter goes to work
The nearest inspection opening is lifted, the machine is run to the blockage, and a camera pass confirms the line is fully open.
- 04
Covered for a year
Every job carries our 365-day warranty on all work. If something we did isn't right, ring the same number.
If the blockage turns out to sit past your boundary, you hear that before anything is charged, not after.
What Goes Into the Price?
We provide up-front, honest quotes that will always match the final price, should you decide to go ahead.
The number is built from the job, not from a menu:
- Which access point we work through and how far down the line the fault sits
- Whether an eel pass answers it or the jetter and a camera run are needed
- Clay or PVC underfoot, because brittle old lines need a gentler pass than modern pipe
- The hour we are called, since after-hours work carries its own rate

When We're Not the Right Call
Your sewer ends where it joins Hunter Water's main. A choke or break in their main is theirs to fix, and a call to their faults line gets it moving. And where the footage shows the line itself has collapsed, a clear alone will not hold, so the pipe relining page covers the lasting fix and tree root removal covers confirmed root causes.

Four Sewer Questions, Answered
Why does my sewer keep blocking in Rathmines?
A sewer that blocks again and again has a cause behind it: roots regrowing through a cracked clay joint, or an old earthenware length with a ledge inside that catches waste. Clearing buys time, but the fault stays. The camera logs which metre of pipe is failing, and if the wall is giving out, relining can seal it without digging up the yard.
Can I keep using water while the sewer is blocked?
Keep it to a minimum. Every flush and every load of washing pushes more water into a line that has nowhere to send it, and on low ground near the lake the overflow will not soak away quickly. Run nothing if you can manage it, and get the line cleared.
Is the camera check included with sewer clearing in Rathmines?
Yes. The camera goes down first to confirm what and where the blockage is, then goes down again once the line is open to prove it is fully clear. You see the footage either way, so you know whether the blockage was a one-off or a symptom of a damaged section behind it.
Do you clear sewers out on the nearby peninsulas too?
Yes. Sewer clearing covers Kilaben Bay, Coal Point and Fishing Point, plus Balmoral and Buttaba, priced the same way before work starts. Describe the symptoms when you ring so the right machine is loaded in the van.
